We take privacy seriously

Protecting your privacy when processing your personal information is important to us. By default, when you visit our website, our web servers store the IP address of your internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the websites you visit, and the date and duration of the visit. This information is mandatory for the technical transfer of website contents and server operation. No personalized evaluation of these data will take place.

If you send us data via a contact form, these data will be stored on our servers and included into the regular backup process. Your data will be used by us only to process your request.

Your data will be treated as confidential. No disclosure to any third party will take place.

Personal data are data about you. They include your name, residence, and email address. You do not have to disclose any personal information in order to visit our website. In some cases, we may need your name and address as well as further information to offer you the desired service.

The same applies in the event that we supply you with information material upon your request, or when we answer your inquiries. In these cases, we will always draw your attention to this fact. In addition, we will store only the data that you have transmitted to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use any of our services, we usually collect only the data necessary to provide our service. We may ask you for further information, whose disclosure is then voluntary. We process personal information exclusively to provide you with our service or to track our commercial goals.

Server log files
In server log files, the website provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically sends to us. These are:

  • Date and time of request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested
  • Access status (data transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Web browser and operating system of the requesting computer
  • Full IP address of the requesting system
  • Transferred amount of data

Such data are not merged with data from other sources. The processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) f GDPR based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

For technical security, in particular to ward off attacks on our web server, these data will be stored by us for a short time. No identification of individuals is possible on the basis of these data. After a maximum of seven days, the data are anonymized by truncating the IP address at the domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a link to any individual user. In anonymous form, the data are processed for statistical purposes as well; no merging of the data or portions thereof with other databases nor transfer to third parties takes place. Only in the context of our server statistics, which we publish every two years in our activity report, will a representation of the number of page views be given.

When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of so-called cookies. Cookies are small data files that are transferred from an internet server to your browser and stored in its file system. Only the IP (Internet Protocol) address is stored here – no personal data are. This information, which is stored in the cookies, enables our server to automatically identify your computer the next time you visit our website, which will facilitate your use. The legal basis for the use of cookies is the legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) f of the GDPR.

Of course, you can visit our website even without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be identified the next time you visit, you can refuse the use of cookies by changing the settings in your browser to “decline cookies.” The respective procedure can be found in the operating instructions of your browser.

If you refuse the use of cookies, however, the use of some areas of our websites may be restricted.

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter “Google”. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” text files that are stored on your computer and thereby allow analysis of your use of the website.

The information generated by these cookies, such as the time, location, and frequency of your website visit, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google in the United States and stored there.

We use Google Analytics on our website with the addition “_gat._anonymizeIp”. In this case, your IP address will be truncated by Google already within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and thus anonymized.

Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our site, to compile reports on the website activity for us, and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law, or as far as third parties process this data on behalf of Google.

Google asserts that it does not link your IP address to other data provided by Google. You can prevent installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, in this case you may not be able to fully use all the functions of our website.

Google also offers a deactivation add-on for the most popular browsers, giving you more control over what data Google collects about the sites you visit. The add-on uses the JavaScript (ga.js) by Google Analytics to indicate that no website visit information should be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, the Google Analytics Disable Add-on does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or any other web analytics services we may use. Further information on the installation of the browser add-on is available via the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage

If you visit our site via a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), you must instead click this link to prevent Google Analytics tracking within this website in the future. This is also an alternative to the above browser add-on. Clicking on the link places an opt-out cookie in your browser that is valid only for that browser and this domain. If you delete the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted, so you will have to click the link again.

If you have consented to Google linking your web and app browsing history to your Google Account and using information from your Google Account to personalize your ads, Google will use your data with Google Analytics data to provide audience lists for cross-device remarketing. To this purpose, Google Analytics will initially track your Google-authenticated ID associated with your Google Account (that is, personally identifiable information) on our website. Afterwards, Google Analytics will temporarily link your ID with your Google Analytics data to optimize our audiences.

If you do not agree to that, you can refuse by setting your account in the My Account section of your Google Account.

This website uses Google Tag Manager. The Tag Manager does not collect personal information. The tool triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data.

Google Tag Manager does not access these data. If disabled at the domain or cookie level, it will remain in effect for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager. Google privacy policy about this tool can be found here: google.com/tagmanager/use-policy

On these pages we use Ajax. Google AJAX Search API is a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. With this tool, an optimization of the loading speeds is achieved. For this, program libraries are called up by Google servers and Google’s CDN (Content Delivery Network) is used.

If you previously used jQuery on another page of the Google CDN, your browser will fall back on the cached copy. If this is not true, it requires downloading, with data coming from your browser to Google. Your data will be transmitted to the USA. For details, see the privacy policy of the provider HERE.

We use the provider YouTube to display embedded videos. The videos are embedded in extended data protection mode. Like most websites, however, YouTube also uses cookies to collect information about visitors to its website. YouTube uses these to capture video statistics, prevent fraud, and improve usability. It will also connect to the Google DoubleClick network.

Starting the video may trigger more data processing. We have no influence on that. For more information about privacy at YouTube, please see their privacy policy at: youtube.com/t/privacy

This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Monotype GmbH (fonts.com or fast.fonts.net) for uniform representation of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to correctly display texts and fonts.

For this purpose, your browser must connect to the servers of fonts.com. As a result, fonts.com learns that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Fonts.com Web Fonts is in the interest of a consistent and attractive presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a default font will be used by your computer.

More information about these web fonts can be found at fonts.com/info/legal and in the Fonts.com privacy policy: fonts.com/info/legal/privacy as well as in the Privacy Policy of Monotype at monotype.com/legal/privacy-policy

For sending the newsletter we use the so-called double opt-in procedure, which means that we will send you a newsletter by e-mail only if you have explicitly confirmed to us that we should activate the newsletter service. We will then send you a notification e-mail asking you to confirm that you wish to receive our newsletter by clicking on a link in this e-mail.

When you sign up for our newsletter, we store your IP address and the date of registration. This storage serves solely for documentation purposes, should any third party register you for newsletter reception without your knowledge or authorization. If you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, you can unsubscribe at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs.

We have taken technical and administrative precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorized access. All our employees and service providers must comply with the applicable data protection laws.

Whenever we collect and process personal information, it will be encrypted before being transferred. This means that your data cannot be abused by third parties. Our security measures are subject to a constant improvement process, and our data protection statements are constantly being revised. Please make sure you have the latest version on hand.

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, or restriction of the processing of your stored data, a right of objection to the processing, as well as a right to data portability and to filing of a complaint in accordance with the requirements of data protection law (right of appeal).

Right of access:
You can ask us for information as to whether and to what extent we process your data.

Right to rectification:
If your data as processed by us are incomplete or incorrect, you can request correction or completion at any time.

Right to erasure:
You may request deletion of your data if we process it unlawfully, or if the processing disproportionately interferes with your legitimate interests. Please note that there may be reasons opposing an immediate deletion, e.g. in the case of statutory retention requirements.

If you assert this right, we will immediately and completely erase your data, unless there is a conflicting statutory retention obligation.

Right to restriction of processing:
You may require us to restrict the processing of your data if

  • you contest the accuracy of the data;
  • the processing of the data is unlawful, but you do not wish deletion and instead require restriction of data usage;
  • we no longer need the data for the intended purpose, but you still need these data to assert or defend legal claims; or
  • you have objected to the processing of the data.

Right to data portability:
You may require us to provide you with the information you have provided to us in a structured, common, and machine-readable format, enabling you to transfer that information to another person without hindrance, provided that

  • we process these data based on a consent given or revocable by you or for implementation of a contract between us, and
  • this processing is done using automated procedures.

If and insofar as this is technically feasible, you may require us to transfer your data directly to another person.

Right to object:
If we process your data for the protection of legitimate interests, you can object to such data processing at any time; this likewise applies to profiling based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is for the purpose of enforcing, pursuing, or defending legal claims. You can object to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct mail at any time without stating reasons.

Right of appeal:
If you believe that we violate German or European data protection laws when processing your data, we ask you to contact us to clarify the issue. Of course, you also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for you, namely the respective State Office for Data Protection Supervision.

If you want to assert any of the above rights against us, please contact our data protection officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to confirm your identity.

We reserve the right to change our privacy policy if necessary due to new technology. Please make sure you have the latest version. If any fundamental changes are made to this privacy policy, we will post it on our website.
